statement

In my work I want to preserve the small and fragile memories of every day people. I do it by bringing memories to the present audience.  I search for subjects and images that can speak for me to the audience.

The formal aspects of my ongoing body of work are a conclusion of my creative process, where paintings, engravings, drawings and photographic techniques complement each other. There is an important juxtaposition between the material used, the way the drawings are created and the images that are being used.

I approach my memories through photography. I use photography to visually recreate my memories. We remember events in pictures, in still moments. At the same time we trust and give photography the job of keeping our memories. I use my pictures or other people’s pictures to show what I remember, to build my mental map.
